MICHAEL CRAWFORD RECEIVES CPTED CERTIFICATION

Michael Crawford recently received designation as a CPTED trained professional. CPTED, which stands for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, is a multi-disciplinary approach for reducing crime through appropriate urban planning, site and environmental design, and management and use of built environments. Undertaking a 15 week comprehensive course from the nation’s leading practitioner and expert, Dr. Randy Atlas, Michael performed CPTED case study analyses on 5 facilities across the United States, delivered numerous oral and written reports on local crime and environmental design topics, and completed a comprehensive security survey of an educational facility. With increasing attention being brought to the need for integrated security solutions in our public spaces and facilities, the input and direction Michael can bring to the development of projects through this lens will make a valuable asset to any project.
