Through a 20-year career, Eric Requist has extensive experience with a multitude of project types making him “a jack of all trades” type of architect. This wealth of knowledge is used to the benefit of every client in the pursuit of developing the most appropriate-fit design for each project.
Eric received a Master of Architecture degree from Iowa State University in 2002. His architectural education included a Rome study abroad program followed by travels throughout Europe and spending time with relatives in Sweden.
As a senior architect, Eric is skilled at all aspects of project delivery from the initial concepts to inspections of the constructed building. His passion is client service with the goal to exceed their expectations by customizing services to meet each client’s unique needs.
Eric’s project experience includes six new construction schools, health care, police stations, parks and recreation indoor pool facility, historical renovations, recycling processing facility, banking headquarters and branches, city downtown park, fire station, large scale reroofing projects, restaurants, event center, large & small scale apartments, high-end condominiums, HUD new construction neighborhoods, and a downtown pedestrian bridge. His master planning experience includes a multi-phase renovation of a hospital in Iowa, school system facilities assessment & improvements strategy, and planning the proposed new Saban Center to be a state-of-the-art interactive learning center housing the future Ignite Discovery Center, Tuscaloosa’s Children’s Theater, and a 20,000 square foot event center.
Prior to a life of architecture, Eric’s life was much more transient but still based upon a desire to provide quality service to customers as an adventure guide from rafting rivers in Wyoming and Alaska, sea kayaking Alaska’s Inside Passage, and week-long horseback riding tours into the “River of No Return Wilderness” one of the most remote wildernesses in the lower 48 states. His transient nature also included a year of studies at the University of California’s Screenwriting Program while interning at Sony Studios.
