David Thomas approaches each project at Caldwell Associates with keen attention to detail, evaluating the unique constraints and design opportunities to understand the overall picture. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in architectural and building technology from Vermont Technical College and a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University. Dave studied in the Italart foreign studies program in Italy and holds an architect’s license in Florida.
David is a LEED Accredited Professional and has extensive experience with new construction projects, particularly educational facilities. With over 20 years’ experience, David is adept at coordinating drawings and specifications with various engineers, consultants, and general contractors. He is responsible for design, drafting, production of working drawings and specifications, code research, 3D renderings and LEED Certification / Sustainable Design.
Highlights of his travels abroad include hiking to the top of an actively erupting volcano and spending the night at Some of Europe’s architectural wonders. David has lived at the end of the Appalachian trail and has been known to obsess over light and shadows. He is famous for founding a small company named Wendy’s and filling email inboxes with great architecture photos.
